1996 - Carroll Shelby is inducted into theMustang Club of America'sHall of Fame
1997 - Shelby designs and manufacturers the Shelby Series 1 sports car.
1998 – Shelby American supports the new Cobra Challenge series launched by Finish Line Motors.
2003 – Shelby American celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Cobra with a special edition CSX4000. Thare are only 40 built .
June 2003 – Carroll Shelby is part of the Ford GT project and helps launch the car at the Ford Centennial celebration. Aug. 15-17, 2003 - Ford’s Vice President of Advance Product Creation, Chris Theodore, announced that Ford will manufacture a line of "Shelby-Ford" vehicles at Pebble Beach, Calif. December 2003 – SHELBY AUTOMOBILES is formed. March 2004 – Carroll Shelby served as the grand marshal at the 52nd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. June 23, 2004 – California Hydrogen Car Company announces its intent to offer hydrogen powered CSX4000 Shelby Cobras. August 13, 2004 – The Shelby Cobra concept is unveiled at Pebble Beach.
November 2004 – Shelby Automobiles and Ford show their Shelby Expedition concept vehicle at SEMA in Las Vegas. January 2005 – The Shelby GR1 concept car is unveiled. March 2005 – The 2007 Shelby GT500 Announced at NY Auto Show.
August 2005 – Amy Boylan becomes president of Shelby Automobiles. January 2006 – The first 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 is sold for $600,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction with the money donated to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation by Ford Motor Company. February 2006 – Motor Trend names Carroll Shelby one of the 50 most important people in the auto industry on their first annual “power list”.
February 2006 – Carroll Shelby receives the Eagle One-Shav Glick Award.
March 2006 – The new Ford Shelby GT-H Coupe program with Hertz program is announced at the NY Auto Show. 500 coupes will be made, resurecting the legendary gt350H for Hertz made in 66 March 25, 2006 - A Ford GT Coupe sells for $530,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Fl.; Ford Motor Co. donates the proceeds to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation. April 2006 – Shelby Autos begins production of the new Ford Shelby GT-H. June 2006 – Carroll Shelby is honored as one of the “Flying Sergeants” in WWII at a reunion on Lakeland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. July 28, 2006 - A Shelby GT-H is auctioned for $250,000 at EAA AirVenture with proceeds benefiting the Youth Eagles aviation education program. August 2006 – The Ford Shelby GT is announced. Limited to 6000 cars in Black and white only both with silver stripes December 2006 – Production of the 2007 Shelby GT begins production in Las Vegas.
Jan. 2007 – The first Shelby GT sells for $600,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale.

April 4 2007 – The 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR is introduced at the New York Auto Show. Limited to 1100 units. This is the 40th anniversary of the gt5400KR
